प्रेस क्लब ने भारत पाकिस्तान के पत्रकारों का दोनों देशों में स्वतंत्र आवाजाही की
माँग की है
मुंबई/मुंबई प्रेस क्लब और काराची प्रेस क्लब ने भारत और पाकिस्तान के विदेश मंत्रियों की आगामी बैठक का स्वागत किया है। एस एम कृष्णा और हीना रब्बानी खर की बैठक इसी माह 7 से 9 तक इस्लामाबाद में होनी है। बैठक में दोनों देशों के विदेश मंत्री आपसी शांति बहाली की प्रक्रिया का जायजा लेंगे। इस अवसर पर एक संयुक्त प्रेस विज्ञप्ति जारी कर मुंबई प्रेस क्लब और काराची प्रेस क्लब ने लोगों के बीच आपसी संपर्क बढ़ाने और इस महाद्वीप में शांति की बहाली के लिए दोनों देशों के पत्रकारों के स्वतंत्र आवागमन को जरूरी कदम बताते हुए इस माँग को फिर से उठाया है। उन्होने आशा व्यक्त की है कि उनकी इस माँग पर दोनों विदेश मंत्री उचित ध्यान देंगे।
उनकी माँगे इस प्रकार हैं-
पत्रकारों के लिए वीसा नियम उदार हों और यह आसानी से मिले।
दूसरे देश के दो ही पत्रकारों के काम करने की पाबंदी हटे और संख्या पर कोई प्रतिबंध ना हो।
एक दूसरे देशों में पत्र- पत्रिकाओं की बिक्री को अनुमति मिले।
JOINT STATEMENT BY MUMBAI AND KARACHI PRESS CLUBS ON PEACE TALKS
The Press Club, Mumbai and Karachi Press Club welcomes the scheduled meeting of Mr. S M Krishna, Indian External Affairs Minister & Ms. Hina Rabbani-Khar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan on 7-9 September 2012. Both of them will be reviewing the resumed peace process began last year.
Both prestigious Press Clubs reiterate their demands of free movements of journalists between two countries in order to promote people-to-people contact and enduring peace in the sub-continent. We hope both Foreign Ministers will give due attention to our demands.
We demand:
- Visa regime should be liberalised for the journalist community and should be made easily available. In fact, Indian and Pakistan’s Foreign Secretaries after their meeting on 4-5 July 2012 said in a joint statement The Foreign Secretaries also emphasised the need to promote media and sports contacts.
- Allowing only two journalists from other country to function should be removed and there should not be restrictions in numbers. More and more journalists from other country should be encouraged and they also should be allowed to move easily.
- Hard copies of newspapers and periodicals should be allowed to sell in other country.
